Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) frequently asked questions.

What is DDP?

Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) is where the sender pays all customs duties and fees before shipping goods into the destination country. This is a much better option for your EU customers.

Parcel2Go is happy to provide you and your business with a great DDP option that is aimed to assist and quicken the customs processes that are often complicated. Here are the benefits:

  • Lower costs compared to DDU by avoiding extra administrative costs in customs.

  • Quicker delivery times by reducing the chances of your parcels being held at customs.

  • Happier clients by avoiding any nasty surprise custom charges and offering them a great experience when buying from UK sellers.

How do I use DDP?

If import VAT has not been paid at point of purchase (Import-One-Stop-Shop) then you will be able to select the DDP option when booking an order on selected services.

What are the benefits of DDP?

DDP provides a faster, cheaper and better experience when sending parcels from the UK to EU by reducing administrative customs cost and ensuring no surprise charges for the recipient.

Will I need an IOSS number to use DDP?

No, DDP should only be used if EU VAT has not already been paid at point of sale through the Import-One-Stop-Shop scheme.

What services are suitable for DDP?

DDP will be an option on the following courier services.

  • UPS

  • DPD
