Before You Ship to France

Before you post to France from the UK, you should check the French customs website to make sure you’re not sending any prohibited items that could delay your parcel’s arrival. It’s also a good idea to avoid the country’s national holidays and non-working days (Saturday and Sunday) so your delivery to France has the best chance of arriving on time.

French Customs and Posting to France After Brexit

Anything you ship to France will now be subject to EU VAT unless it is a gift up to the value of €45 (around £38*). It’s important to know that the ‘value’ of the parcel includes the cost of shipping, for example if you send a book that costs £10 and shipping costs you £8.50, the total value is £18.50. In this case you wouldn’t have to pay any EU VAT.

If your shipment to France costs more than £39 or you’re sending directly from a marketplace such as Etsy or Ebay, your parcel will be subject to a VAT rate of 20%.

If you’re not sure about any information here or in our international shipping hub, don’t hesitate to get in touch - we are more than happy to help you. And if you’d like to ship to France as a part of a business, find information for businesses shipping into the EU.
