The first thing to think about is what kind of hamper you’re going to use to display your gifts.
For a luxurious treat that’s great for sending heavier or delicate items, you could use a traditional wicker basket.
Other options include pretty gift bags filled with shredded tissue paper (in mum’s favourite colour, of course!), or hamper style boxes. The benefit of these options is that they are light and easy to post and will help to keep Mother’s Day delivery costs down.

Once you’ve picked the items you want to include in your Mother’s Day hamper, it’s time to pack it. These are our top three packaging tips for hampers:
Use some filling material in your hamper to help you arrange your items nicely and give them some extra protection on their journey. Things like shredded paper, shredded wood, or crumpled tissue paper are all good options. Don’t forget to put the heaviest things in the bottom of the hamper, and if there’s anything fragile, consider adding another layer of wrapping to keep them safe.
Wrap your hamper in cellophane once you’ve finished adding the items. This will keep everything together in transit. You can also add a bow to make it look even more professional.
Choose a sturdy cardboard box that’s slightly bigger than your hamper. Ideally the box should be big enough that hamper doesn’t touch the sides. Wrap your hamper in bubble wrap and then pack the surrounding space with crumpled up bubble wrap or newspaper. Don’t forget to seal the top and bottom of the box with strong packing tape and then add your shipping label. If you don’t have a printer at home, you can choose from our range of no printer couriers who’ll either bring your shipping label with them when they collect, or print it for you at the drop-off shop.
If the items you’re sending are delicate, you’ll want to make sure they’re well wrapped to help prevent damage.
Our top tip is to wrap each item individually in bubble wrap or corrugated paper before you put them in your hamper. Use plenty of scrunched up paper or shredded wood between each gift and ensure everything is tightly packed so that it doesn’t move around during transit.
