eBay Order Tracking Steps

eBay parcel tracking typically goes through several stages from the moment an order is placed to when it's delivered. Here are the common steps:

  1. Order Confirmation: Once a purchase is made on eBay, the buyer receives an order confirmation. This confirmation indicates that the order has been received by the seller.

  2. Preparation for Dispatch: The seller prepares the item for shipping. This includes packaging the item securely and attaching the necessary shipping labels, including the tracking number.

  3. Item Dispatched: The seller hands the package over to the shipping carrier, such as Royal Mail, Evri, DPD and many more. The tracking system is updated to reflect that the item has been dispatched.

  4. In Transit: This stage includes all the steps the package takes while it is being transported to the buyer. This can include leaving the original shipping facility, arriving at and departing from sorting facilities, being loaded onto delivery vehicles, and so on. The tracking system is updated at each of these steps.

  5. Out for Delivery: This update shows when the package is on the delivery vehicle and expected to be delivered that day.

  6. Delivered: The final stage, when the package is delivered to the buyer's specified address. The tracking status will be updated to 'delivered'.

  7. Failed/Attempted Delivery: If the carrier attempted to deliver the package but couldn't, the tracking status may show "attempted delivery" or "delivery failed." The package might be held at a local post office or delivery center, or a re-delivery may be attempted.

Please note that the specific tracking stages can vary depending on the shipping carrier used and the specific route the package takes. Buyers can usually check the tracking status of their eBay orders by going to the "Purchase history" section of their eBay account and clicking on the tracking number.
