Fold your dress. If your dress has no embellishments, turn the gown inside out before folding. Lay the dress on your bed and start by folding the sides inwards. Place some acid-free tissue paper between the folds to prevent snagging and creasing. Fold in the sleeves, train, and skirt. Finally, fold the bodice over the skirt.
Protect it with plastic. Although plastic isn’t recommended for storing your dress, it will do a great job of protecting it from the elements during its journey.
Box it up. Choose a new, clean, and sturdy box to ship your wedding dress. You don’t want to squash your dress into the box, so choose one that allows just enough space for it. This will make sure your dress doesn’t slide around during transit. To find out what size box you need, loosely fold your dress and measure the length, width, and depth.
