In one of the biggest logistic industry news stories of recent times, it has been announced that DHL eCommerce UK will merge with Evri.
A transformational acquisition, Evri, one of the UK’s largest parcel delivery companies, will join forces with DHL eCommerce UK to deliver over a billion parcels and a billion business letters each year.
Martijn de Lange, Evri’s CEO, said that ‘by combining Evri’s scale and innovation with DHL eCommerce UK's best-in-class premium van network, we are creating the pre-eminent parcel delivery group in the UK.’
Pablo Ciano, CEO of DHL eCommerce, continued: "DHL eCommerce and Evri both stand for top service quality, reliability, and sustainability, which makes this partnership a great fit for our customers...".
Unsurprisingly, this update has sparked excitement among shippers in the UK eager to see what the DHL and Evri merger will bring. Here’s a closer look at what you can expect!
This new group will bring together the cost-effective parcel delivery services that Evri is renowned for with the premium shipping and delivery network of DHL eCommerce UK.
Their partnership will allow for an increased range of parcel delivery services, which includes next day delivery, secure services for items such as computers or phones, and one of the largest out-of-home networks with 15,000 UK access points in shops and lockers.
The combined Group will bring together over 30,000 couriers and van drivers, 12,000 colleagues, and a fleet of 8,000 vehicles to deliver over 1 billion parcels and 1 billion letters annually.
Customers will benefit from more choice in delivery services and more competitive pricing.
Building on both company’s reputation for high-quality service, reliability, and sustainability, the merger will enable shippers to access a broader range of services, including:
Enhanced courier network for next-day and standard deliveries for small and large items for retailers, businesses and consumers.
A separate premium network for high-value and large parcels designed for B2C and B2B deliveries.
A leading one-stop solution for SMEs, offering a comprehensive range of services including mail, lightweight and larger shipments, secure deliveries, B2B logistics, international shipping, and fulfillment solutions.
Increased international delivery options with nearly 150,000 access points.
New UK business letter services with more options for sending lightweight items
Increased options for affordable eCommerce shipping, which will include next-day and standard services
DHL eCommerce UK will soon rebrand to Evri Premium.
Evri Premium will offer specialised parcel delivery courier services for both B2B and B2C deliveries. This separate and secure network will provide fast, time-sensitive deliveries with increased shipping security — ideal for those shipping large and high-value items regularly.
As the merger progresses, we’ll keep you updated with any changes that might affect your normal services, as well as new opportunities to enhance your shipping!
For now, Evri will continue to operate under their current branding and there will be no changes to the way you book your Evri delivery.
DHL’s services such as DHL Express will be unaffected by the merger, and you’ll be able to book these services as usual when you get a quote.
