Amazon | Prime Air delivery in the UK using drones

He said: “I had some people from Amazon coming to see me the other day, they want to replace van deliveries with drone deliveries and they can’t do any trials in the Us because they’re over-regulated.”

He added: “We need to make sure that wherever you are in the world, and if you want to innovate and you want to invest in this sort of technology, come to the UK because we’re here to help you.”

The government is currently working with Amazon and seeking permission from the British Airline Pilots Association and will only be introduced in the UK if the Civil Aviation Authority give their permission. The Prime Air service aims to deliver packages via drones within 30 minutes and is likely to have limits as to how far and where the drones can fly.
