About Kenya Courier Services

    • For more than 45 years since it gained its independence, Kenya has seen the UK as its most important trading partner. Exports of goods and services from the UK to Kenya amounted to more than £350million in 2008, while we imported Kenyan products worth nearly £460million.
    • The UK is also the largest foreign investor in Kenya, with more than 60 UK companies having operations there, and investments are estimated to be worth £1.5billion.
    • While UK companies are active in most areas of Kenya’s economy, many opportunities exist specifically in two of its fastest-growing sectors:
    • Horticulture – backed by aggressive marketing from the Kenyan government, and;
    • Telecommunications. A policy of liberalisation saw two new mobile phone service providers roll out their services in 2008.
    • France Telecom purchased a majority stake in former government-owned Telkom Kenya and rolled out Orange Mobile, while Econet Wireless rolled-out Yu.
    • There are also opportunities in education and training, financial services and healthcare, while a government privatisation programme offers great opportunities for foreign businesses to get involved. The Kenyan government welcomes and actively encourages foreign direct investment.
    • All imports to Kenya must comply with the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) requirements. The KEBS has a product-labelling specification which covers a wide range of products.
    • The bureau is also responsible for overseeing the quality of the country’s imports. All goods and products must demonstrate conformity to KEBS’ standards or approved equivalents by evidence of a test report or certificate from an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory recognised by the International Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation (ILAC) or preferably from any conformity assessment body with the approval of the International Federation of Inspection Agencies (IFIA).
    • KEBS runs the Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) to Standards programme as a conformity assessment and verification procedure applied to specific imported products at the respective exporting countries. Two British quality assurance companies are licensed to operate the PVoC program on its behalf in the UK.
    • The aim of the Kenya PVoC program is to minimise the risk to Kenya of unsafe and sub-standard goods from entering the country.
    • If your products have passed the rigorous conformity requirements of the Kenyan government, you will need to use a courier service which is equally committed to quality and reliability, and that’s where Parcel2Go can help.
    • You can take advantage of our deep knowledge of exporting markets and procedures to ensure that your business complies with all the required standards.
    • Our strong working relationships with the world’s foremost courier services and parcel delivery companies mean that we can offer you a range of delivery solutions tailored to your timescale and budget. We will even keep you up-to-date with the progress of your package throughout its journey via our online tracking service. And if required, you can be notified of when a delivery has been signed for.
