Sainsbury’s have different returns policies for the different products that they
sell including grocery and electrical. Therefore this will just provide you with
a guide of what to if you had to return the product. The full policy can be found
on the Sainsbury’s returns policy page.
However, it is possible that Sainsbury’s may have produced a revised copy of their
returns policy therefore it is important that you visit the retailer’s website for
an updated version of their returns policy before attempting to returns your items.
Amending or cancelling an order
If the order has already been checked out then you will have to create a new order
for the additional items that you wanted. If you want to cancel an order that you
have received then it is advisable that you return the items back to Sainsbury’s
for a refund. If you received the items by post then send back using the freepost
envelope provided (please quote your order number and products that you require
a refund for).
Items excluded from the returns policy
Things like CDs, DVDs, Blu Ray, Consoles and the like cannot be returned once opened
(this includes recording media as well). Made to order items can only be returned
if faulty and Sainsbury’s reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee that is
20% of the order value.
Returning an Item
If the product that you ordered wasn’t what you wanted and its not excluded from
our returns policy then you can send it back for a refund within 28 days of the
product being purchased.
Refunds will be credited back to the card that was used to make the payment along
with an email confirmation sent to the email address you provided on sign up.
On delivery, if the groceries that you requested were not the correct ones then
you can return the products to the driver along with details of the product and
the refund you require. If after the driver has gone you realise that there are
other products that you need to return then you can return them to us in line with
our 28 day returns policy.
Baby foods and milk, perishable food and drink cannot be returned unless they are
of poor quality or are faulty. Please provide your receipt as proof of purchase
at the refunds counter.
The refund could take up to 10 days to process. If after 10 days you still haven’t
received a refund, then please contact our customer service team.
